WHEN ARE MEETINGS? Our last meeting was on April 24, 2022. At this time there are no meetings scheduled. Meetings were held every Sunday from 1pm to 3pm EST - Eastern Standard Time, which is New York City time - and there were never any fees, dues, or donations.

Every month we rotated through the following meeting formats:

Christine Marie, was our guest speaker 10/17/21, and she returned 02/20/22 to do a Guided Meditation Workshop where we learned about creating and experiencing guided meditations. Christine is a Medicine Woman who brings healing through poetry, artistry and Shamanic healing. Through the medium of creativity and energy healing, she guides and holds space for others to unearth their true divinity and empowers them to heal themselves. An advocate for positive change around de-stigmatizing mental health, domestic violence, and human disconnection, she urges the need for more self-love, self-reflection, and spiritual connection in order to create a more conscious, loving human evolution. She is the author of Breaking Free.

Michael Broussard, our guest speaker 01/16/22, is the founder of the survivor organization Ask A Sex Abuse Survivor and creator of the interactive presentation of the same name. The presentation has been sparking real time conversations about abuse and healing across the country since 2014. He has also made it his mission to amplify the voices of his fellow survivors, offering them an online platform to tell their stories and receive support and validation from the community. Rene Howitt, our guest speaker 12/19/21, is a member of the Missouri Children’s Justice Task Force and works throughout Missouri as a child advocate. She is the founder of COPE24 - Changing Our Parenting Experience - which produced the documentary The Life Sentence about infants who suffered severe head trauma and survived. COPE 24 has also produce the following videos: Life-Line, Parenting Under The Influence, and How Many ACES Are You Holding?  Rene is the author of three books: Fosterhood, Whose Best Interest?, and Family: It’s Complicated - A Bible Study of ACEs in Genesis.

Dr. Joy Ladin, our guest speaker 11/21/21, the Gottesman Chair in English at Yeshiva University, became the first openly transgender employee of an Orthodox Jewish institution. She is a National Jewish Book Award finalist for Through the Door of Life, a Lambda Literary and Triangle Award finalist for The Soul of the Stranger: Reading God and Torah from a Transgender Perspective, and has written nine books of poetry, including The Book of Anna. Episodes of her online conversation series, Containing Multitudes, are available at jewishlive.org/multitudes.

Dr. Gregory Williams, our guest speaker 09/19/21, is on the Senior Leadership Team at Baylor College of Medicine’s OB/GYN Department, and he has a PhD in Counseling. He is the author of Shattered by the Darkness: Putting the Pieces Back Together After Child Abuse, and he has two new books for release in Summer 2021: Overcoming the Darkness: The Road Map to Hope, and When the Dark Clouds Come, a book to help teenagers deal with stressful moments in their lives.

Sarah Peyton, our guest speaker 08/15/21, is a certified trainer of nonviolent communication, constellation facilitator and neuroscience educator, integrating brain science and the use of resonant language to heal trauma and nourish self-warmth with exquisite gentleness. She teaches and lectures internationally, and is the author of the books Your Resonant Self: Guided Meditations and Exercises to Engage Your Brain’s Capacity for Healing and The Your Resonant Self Workbook. Sarah is also a sexual abuse survivor.

Teri Wellbrock, our guest speaker 07/18/21, is a trauma-warrior, having survived and thrived after learning to cope with her Complex-PTSD symptoms and 25 years of severe panic attacks. She is currently writing a book, Unicorn Shadows: From Trauma to Triumph – A Healing Guide, about her multiple traumas, with the intent to help others reach their own joyous and peaceful existence via her “story of hope”.

Dr. Janyne McConnaughey, our guest speaker 06/20/21, is a nationally known trauma-informed author and advocate who has lived with the effects of childhood sexual abuse from the time she was three years old. She is the author of the Brave series of books, three books describing the effects of childhood trauma and the paths to healing. She is currently a Distinguished Visiting Professor at Tabor College and serves on the Board of Directors for the Attachment & Trauma Network.
